Electronic Reserves Submission Guidelines
When you submit an item for electronic reserve, students will be able to go directly to an EReserves coursepage and retrieve the item from any computer with an internet connection. Copyright considerations may require password protection for the item and it is the responsibility of the instructor to distribute the password to the class. Please choose material of a reasonable length. We may need to separate the material into several files so it will download in pdf format in a reasonable amount of time.
Each item you submit for scanning should meet the following guidelines:
-
clean, readable copy
-
no black margins; at least ½ inch margin along all four edges
-
single-sided only
-
no staples, no holes
-
for books, least possible shadow in spine (turn book so copier light runs along, not across spine)
-
8.5 x 11 pages (letter, not legal)
Please provide the title page or show full bibliographic citation with item to be scanned. Make sure item is listed in your syllabus in the same way so students will easily find it in the reserve system.
Note: If an article is available through one of the library’s databases or an electronic subscription, we can provide a link to it unless prohibited by the licensing agreement. You may also link to it from BlackBoard or your own homepage.
